Smoothies are my favorite snack in the world! Why? Because when made with the right ingredients, they are super healthy and QUICK to make and grab on the go.
I have recently upped my smoothie game by adding in an anti-aging factor.
The magic ingredient: Silica.
After doing massive amounts of research on the best anti-aging supplement to increase collagen production sans animal products, I narrowed in on Silica. On to the recipe of this magical smoothie…
1 cup spinach (high in protein!)
3/4 cup of berries of your choice (I buy a mixed berries bag, frozen)
1/8 ginger root
½ lemon, squeezed
1 tablespoon Silica
1 tablespoon flax seeds
1 cup water
Directions: add ice to a blender & blend. That’s it!
What I love about this smoothie is that the berries are filled with antioxidants, ginger is an anti-inflammatory source, and flax seeds are packed with Omega-3’s!
Perfect for the girl on a budget and the girl on the go. It is SO much cheaper to make this smoothie yourself vs. paying about $9 per smoothie at a juice or smoothie bar. I spend about $10 per week total on all of these ingredients.
