I am writing this post 19 months in and can vet every single one of these items for baby. What I realized pretty early on is that babies don’t need much and this is a list of essentials. Most are clean/organic/non-toxic, which I prefer. Happy registering!

♡ Apparel
These socks are the coziest, most luxe socks perfect for newborn days.
After using a couple of gowns when Zyla was a newborn, I bought several more because they make diaper changes SO EASY. No snapping or zipping! These ones are organic cotton and just so nice.
Zipper pajamas are everythiiiing. So easy to get on and off. These ones are so soft and Z’s favorites to this day.
♡ For sleeping & chilling
Personal note: we purchased a bassinet that quickly became unused. In Zyla’s first week of life, we began cosleeping and so she used her bassinet for a few nights only. From day 3 of life on, she has slept with us in our bed. I was always adamant that this was ‘wrong’ but then I discovered the whole new world of biologically normal sleep and bedsharing. That’s not what this post is about, but want to provide context for the products I am about to share.
This lounger was a lifesaver from months 0-6. Zyla took her naps in this lounger (supervised, of course). It gently hugs your baby and it was like she was sleeping on a cloud. Love that it’s made with organic materials.
We only used this swaddle for naps, because it’s not recommended that cosleeping babies are swaddled. Also, learning about potential PT issues that can arise from being swaddled (with arms contained) encouraged me to look for a swaddle that allows for more natural movement and we loved using the Love to Dream swaddle for the first few weeks during naps.
This.product.is.a.Godsend. We’ve used it every single night and during naps from birth onward.
Yogalseep Portable Noise Machine
This noise machine was so easy to take with us, attach to Zyla’s infant carseat, take on walks, etc. if she was sleeping. We used it from 0-9 months.
♡ Gear/Travel
This wrap was a GODSEND the first couple of months. I wore Zyla in it while doing things around the house because hands free = LIFE.
We tried a couple carriers and this one was Zyla’s favorite. She hated facing inward after about 8 weeks old (in any and all carriers) – but facing outward, she was as happy as could be. This one is very simple to use which made things easier if it was just me toting her in to the store or to run errands.
My best piece of advice is this test drive these fuckers before choosing one. Is it easy to snap into place? Break down? Push? Does your bag fit? Does it fit in your trunk? We have used the Uppababy Vista V2 since birth and LOVE it.
I wish we’d gotten the Doona sooner. We purchased it when Zyla was 6 months old because I didn’t really get it at first. I’d seen parents pushing their babies around in the low stroller, thinking, wtf is up with that?! But then I learned more – it’s a travel stroller and car seat in one. A doona could be used as a second carseat in your partner’s car, and/or for quick trips around town, or for travel. It collapses down small and fits in the overhead bin on the plane which makes travel so much easier.
For being able to see baby in your rearview mirror in the car. This one is larger than most of the others which is why I chose it.
♡ Diapering ♡
Oh, the number of different diapers we’ve tried…😅
Every baby is different, but there are two winners in this category for us:
Coterie diapers are the most luxurious diapers we’ve used. And, yes, they are expensive. They’re made with clean materials and they feel luxurious. We also love that they have a stretchy waist, a feature that many clean diapers don’t have.
If you’re looking for a squeaky clean, all cotton reusable diaper, Kudos is IT. It’s actually the only reusable diaper on the market that is lined with 100% cotton. These are the diapers that we are currently using. If you’d like to give them a try, you can use code LYNN10 at checkout to save on your order.
The best changing pad and so easy to clean!
Soothing, non-toxic, and really works.
This diaper pail is award-winning and really locks in odor. The BEST!
You don’t have to use the Ubbi liners with the above diaper pail, but these are made for it and so we continue to purchase them.
♡ Feeding ♡
We tested several different types of bottles and nipples, and found out about Lansinoh bottles and nipples from a lactation consultant. If you plan to breastfeed, this is the BEST bottle for breastfed babies.
This pump is amazing and so fast. When you order, make sure that you get the correct size as this makes the biggest difference for pumping. Pro-tip: check with your insurance as many plans cover at least part of a breast pump!
This brand has several options, but I went for the organic version. I love that it clips on and doesn’t slip off, it’s firm for you and for baby which makes breastfeeding or bottle feeding so.much.easier, and it has a nice back rest for mama. This was ESSENTIAL from day one.
Soft and large = perfect.
♡ Bath & Cleaning
This one is non-toxic and makes baths more fun!
Are you shocked that Z has her very own oil? This is one smells like a DREAM and doesn’t include fake fragrance or nasty ingredients. So nice for after a bath.
Love that this one reads the forehead in 1 second.
There are so many infant bath tubs out there, but really love that this one folds up so that it doesn’t have to be ‘out’ all the time.
Just the softest washcloths made of organic cotton.
These are perfect, snuggly, and love the hood!
♡ Postpartum
If I could go back and do my baby registry again, I would have added some postpartum items because I was NOT PREPARED. I used what I got from the hospital at first, and then I made my own pads. But having the below would’ve made my life so much easier.
