Real Sh*t

I have an entire cabinet filled with smoothie ingredients. No, not because I think I’m fancy…it’s because I can never find the time to waltz around the kitchen and prepare a breakfast that involves cooking of any kind. I’m one who sleeps in as late as possible (currently trying to change this situation, but more on that another day).

I need something quick, healthy, and efficient in the morning, and this smoothie checks all of the boxes. I bought Body Love by Kelly LeVeque about a year ago, and love her advice on smoothies, AKA the FAB FOUR SMOOTHIE.

Wait, what is the fab four smoothie?

FEMININE HYGIENE. We all do it (hopefully!), but no one really talks about it. Keeping your lady parts fresh and sparkly isn’t only about showering everyday, it’s a lot more.

Let’s get into what doesn’t work first…

Have you ever walked into a room and realized that you tower over everyone, including men? Usually everyone else notices that you’re tall, too. People always take note of how tall I am. When I was younger, I always got the questions, “Do you play basketball?” or “Do you play volleyball?”…no. I have zero interest in sports, especially those with balls. 😉 Anyway, I always felt awkward answering these questions, because I felt like I should have been playing these sports given my height. For the record, I am 5’9″ and have been since 6th grade. My dad is 6’6” and is often asked the same questions, and he gave me a spicy response: “No, do you play golf?”.

I used to be so embarrassed of my height, but now I love it. Going shopping can be difficult sometimes. If you’re tall, you know allll the struggles.

So here are my top tips for dressing a long frame.

Now this is a makeup product that is TRULY AMAZING.

Enter: Charlotte Tilbury’s Flawless Filter.

Let me say that there is not one Charlotte Tilbury product that I haven’t liked. But this one deserves its own blog post.

Flawless Filter is a new product as of this year, and it does exactly what it says it does. It’s truly like a Snapchat filter in makeup form. Charlotte’s team deems it a “complexion booster”. There are so many different ways that you can use it, but the makeup artist at the Charlotte Tilbury counter told me that she likes to apply it underneath her makeup and that it acts as a primer this way. I tried applying it this way, and it was pure magic. I use a damp beauty blender and blend it in after I’ve applied my serums and sunscreen. Sometimes I just do this if I don’t want to wear a full face of makeup. I can’t go back to a regular primer and foundation now. Applying the Flawless Filter gives me that lit from within look when it’s topped with foundation.

Flawless Filter also looks great on the traditional highlight areas: the Cupid’s bow, beneath the brows, cheekbones, and down the nose. Sometimes I apply a little more on these areas after I apply foundation (and the Flawless Filter beneath foundation).

You’re probably wondering what the consistency is like. The bottle looks like a bottle of foundation. The applicator is a doe-foot applicator that allows for really easy distribution on the face. It is much lighter and sheerer than foundation, but it does have a little color to it (and comes in 7 different shades) in addition to a glow. No sparkle, but a definite radiance.

Extra: the bottle is gorgeous. Very Old Hollywood style and it is perfect for Instagram. 😉

Have you tried this product? Do tell.
