Pretty much every time I travel, I pack my whole house. Every moisturizer, serum, CANDLE, a million pairs of underwear, etc. comes with me. I am trying to break that cycle – you know, to be like one of those effortless, minimalistic, chic ladies who travels. Although I am known to pack a lot, I do have some packing tips to share.
First, the staples that I will be bringing with me:
+ The Girl On The Train: OMG, have you guys read this book? I am so sucked in, and I have about 1/8th more to go. I can’t wait to see how the movie compares to the book.
+ A warm, vegan puffy jacket: A must for the cool temps in Mammoth Lakes! I love how this one has a feminine shape to it.
+ Silky/warm PJ’s: Again, a must for cold weather.
+ Chic winter/hiking boots: How cute are these ones (above) from Target? They are lined with faux shearling to keep your tootsies nice and warm.
My best packing tips:
+ Roll your clothes instead of folding. Rolling creates more space in your suitcase and also prevents your clothes from getting wrinkled.
+ Bring clear travel bags. I have a set of these for toiletries, and they are super helpful to keep organized and spot what you need, when you need it.
+ Pack large ziplock bags for storing wet and/or dirty clothes. This keeps those smelly underwear and socks totally isolated from your clean clothes. Lifesaver.
+ Keep your color palette neutral if you can. This way, everything goes with everything and you won’t have to think hard about what to wear.
+ Along those same lines, plan your outfits in advance. This has been the biggest advantage for me in my quest to pack less. It works! I lay out my outfits on my bed to decide what I’m going to bring.
+ No matter where I am going, I always bring a scarf. It takes up almost no space, dresses up any outfit and adds interest, and keeps you warm if you need to layer up.
+ I always pack a satin pillowcase to protect my hair. LOVE Savvy Sleepers pillow cases!
I’d love to hear your packing tips!
xoxo, Lynn
