The only thing cozier and fall-ish than curling up with a cup of hot tea and apple crisp is actually spending the day making it from scratch, cutting granny smith apples and baking the crisp to fill the kitchen with amazing scents of cinnamon-y warmth.
It smells damn good. And tastes just as amazing.
As usual, this recipe is grain free, sugar free, and 100% vegan.
Ingredients:
For the apple mixture:
+ 5-6 granny smith apples
+ 2 teaspoons cinnamon
+ 1 teaspoon nutmeg
+ 1 teaspoon vanilla
+ juice of one lemon
+ 1 tablespoon coconut flour
For the topping:
+ 1/4 cup coconut flour
+ 1/4 cup almond flour
+ 2 tablespoons raw agave
+ 1 teaspoon vanilla
+ 2 tablespoons melted unrefined coconut oil
+ 1 teaspoon cinnamon
+ 2 teaspoons unsweetened coconut shreds
+ 1 tablespoon raw pecans
Instructions:
+ Mix all of the apple mixture ingredients together, and place in a baking dish.
+ Mix crumble ingredients and add to the top of your apple mixture.
+ Bake at 375 for 30 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
Enjoy!
xoxo, Lynn
