Today I want to discuss an important topic that some disregard: Seasonal beauty – specifically Winter beauty.
Your skin and hair need different things during different times of the year, and during the winter is when you really need to step it up and hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!
On top of that, I’m sharing a few products that will fake the look of hydrated skin. On to the best of the best for WINTER:
Kérastase Elixir Ultime Nourishing Hair Oil: This is the best of the best in the world of hair oils. I could sing its praises all day! It’s not greasy so it doesn’t make you look like you haven’t showered in a week, it leaves a very subtle shine to the hair, and it smells absolutely divine. On top of that, it protects the hair from ultra cold temps and heat. LOVE!
Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops: The Cover FX Enhancer Drops have a very good reputation, and for good reason. These drops have so many uses. My favorite is to mix with my foundation. Please note that if you have oily skin, you will look extra hydrated, to put it gently. But for us dry ladies, it adds an amazing glow to the skin. I use the color Moonlight, which is the perfect golden/silver for light to medium skin tones.
Too Faced Bronzer: I recently used up my Benefit Hoola Bronzer, and was so excited to use it up and get a cruelty free and vegan bronzer. Enter Too Faced Milk Chocolate Bronzer! It’s not orange, but it also isn’t too grayish where it’ll make you look dead. It adds the perfect amount of warmth to the skin if you have a light to medium complexion. Added bonus: it smells like CHOCOLATE because Too Faced uses natural Cocoa Powder to formulate their bronzers.
Vitaman C Serum: Vitamin C Serum has become an absolute essential in my skincare routine, and it is so, so important to use year-round. It hydrates your skin, but does so much more than that too. The biggest reason that I use a Vitamin C serum is because it protects against free radicals. Secondly, it encourages collagen production in your skin’s cells to fight aging. WIN!
Laura Geller Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in Gilded Honey: After I have applied my foundation and Cover FX Enhancer Drops, I add this highlighter on the tops of my cheekbones to really strobe the shit out of my dry face. Gilded Honey has a gold tint to it, so it also warms up your complexion while it highlights.
Oribe Après Beach Wave and Shine Spray: After I’ve styled my hair and added my texturizing products and hair spray, I spray this shine spray on to achieve the look of bouncy, shiny hair. My hair is not naturally bouncy and shiny, but this baby does a damn good job at faking it!
Sanitas GlycoSolution 15%: This toner has become my holy grail toner year-round. It exfoliates the skin, removes dirt and oil after washing, and helps prevent inflammation. Perfect for getting rid of those winter flakes!
Inglot blush: During the winter months, I like to use a pink blush to add color to my skin, and because I gravitate towards cooler shades during the winter time. Summer is all about peachy blushes, but I really like to use pinks and mauves during the winter months. This one is very creamy, and doesn’t look scary-pink once applied!
Obagi Hydrate Facial Moisturizer: This moisturizer is my go-to for all seasons. I use it at night and in the morning after my serum and before applying sunscreen. It is simply the best for any skin type!
