Hello! Happy Monday! I hope you had a fabulous weekend! I have been recovering from a nasty cold/flu and have been sipping on Starbucks’ Medicine Ball Tea – how did I not know about this secret menu item before?! Even if you’re not sick, I highly recommend if you’re in a cold climate.
Now on to the most magical skincare product I have to share with you…
DR. DENNIS GROSS ALPHA BETA PEEL PADS
First and foremost, these peel pads are 100% vegan and cruelty free. This made my heart do a little happy dance as I try to only purchase cruelty free products. In fact, everything in Dr. Dennis Gross’ line is vegan and cruelty free.
If you are subscribed to receive weekly emails from me, you may have already read a little about my love affair with these peel pads. (Subscribe HERE for tons of goodies, tips, and tricks that are not seen here on the blog).
I discovered these miracle peel pads during a search for a peel that wouldn’t make me RED all day but that would be highly effective. Why a peel? Personally, I have very dry skin, rosacea that I’ve dealt with since puberty, and recently, tiny little bumps on my cheeks which flare up sometimes like a pesky little bitch friend of my rosacea. Color is so easy to treat with makeup, but texture isn’t…so I wanted a fix.
I am so impressed with these peel pads – after 2 consecutive days of use, the bumps disappeared by about 90%. Crazy!
I have been using these now for just about two weeks, and there are NO MORE bumps, my skin is brighter, and it feels tighter too. These peel pads allow my skincare products to absorb so much more effectively too.
How I use them
I have been rotating the regular and the extra strength pads each night. You’ll notice a sting with the extra strength, and I wouldn’t recommend starting out with extra strength. I personally LOVE THE BURN!
The pads are super simple to use: Start with step one, an individually wrapped towelette that comes pre-soaked with the peel liquid (which includes glycolic acid, witch hazel, salicylic acid, lactic acid, mandelic acid, malic acid, citric acid and willow bark extract, among other skin-loving ingredients). Sweep pre-soaked pad all over your face (I do my neck and shoulders, too) in circular motions until the pad is dry, which takes about one minute. After you’ve used step one, wait two minutes, then open up the next pre-soaked towelette. The second step is a neutralizer which includes a mix of antioxidants including resveratrol, retinol, vitamin c (great for collagen stimulation/production), copper, and zinc. Repeat the same step as #1 – use it up until dry all over your face, neck, chest, and shoulders.
After completing this process, I apply my oils, eye cream, and night cream.
It is completely up to you on whether or not you use these in the morning or at night. I’ve always believed that treating any skin issues should occur in the evening – this includes these pads, using retinols, and providing extreme hydration to dry skin.
Why they’re amazing
What I loved most about the peel pads vs. other products is that Dr. Dennis Gross has a patent on this two step process. No other peel on the market comes with a neutralizing product (step 1 and step 2).
You’ve read about my positive experience above, and here are the fixes these pads make to those who use them daily:
– Uneven tone and texture
– Fine lines and wrinkles
– Enlarged pores
Jeff asks me to use them on him every night too – I have become his personal med spa assistant!
I want to know if you’ve tried these amazing peel pads! Let me know in the comments below.
Off for another medicine ball tea…
xo, Lynn
