Essential Oils for Anxiety

Essential oils and diffusing is SUCH a thing right now, and I am obsessed. Completely. Diffusing oils is the best to make your home smell amazing, to feel better, and just to make your home more vibe-y. You know what I mean if you have a diffuser. When I am at home, you can bet I am diffusing oils.

Another big benefit of diffusing essential oils is that the ones I am going to show you today are non-toxic and plant-based…so you don’t have to worry about being poisoned by gross chemicals.

I’ve spoken about my anxiety here on the blog before, and it is something that I deal with regularly, so I recently did some research on the best oils to use to help with anxiety. THERE ARE SO MANY! I have tried most of the recommended oils and I am here to share my absolute faves with you.

Adding in the use of essential oils with other self-care things like meditation, yoga, therapy, etc. will add to your arsenal of combative techniques.

♡ Lavender oil: Lavender oil is the all encompassing oil and can be used for anxiety, to help with sleep, and ease your mind. Think: relaxation and serenity.

♡ Tangerine oil: Any citrus oil can brighten your mood when your anxiety is making you feel depressed and sad. Orange/tangerine oil is known to be the best of the citrus oils for this purpose. I love to mix orange essential oil with eucalyptus oil for the most amazing spa-like experience in my bathroom.

♡ Bergamont oil: Bergamot oil comes from bergamot oranges and has an invigorating citrus scent (see above for orange oil being amazing for anxiety). According to a 2015 study, both animal and human trials have found that bergamot helps relieve anxiety and improve mood.

♡ Ylang Ylang oil: Ylang Ylang oil is a beautiful floral scent and is used in aromatherapy to promote relaxation. According to a 2006 study on nurses, inhaling a blend of ylang ylang, lavender, and bergamot lowered stress and anxiety levels, blood pressure, heart rate, and serum cortisol.

My favorite blends:

♡ Well-Being oil: If you are just getting started with essential oils, I highly recommend trying out some of Saje’s blends. Well-Being is my all time favorite because it’s a blend of some of my favorite scents: lavender, neroli, and cypress. We already talked about lavender, and neroli is a floral, citrus note to instill feelings of peace and harmony. Cypress centers the emotions and stimulates the senses with a fresh, woodsy aroma. AKA it’s pretty much perfection when it comes to helping with anxiety.

My best tip is to use essential oils consistently. I keep my faves in my car, too, so that I can use them all day.

if you can’t go more than a day without washing if you can’t go more than a day without washing your hair (like me), let me introduce you to this 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner combo that is truly so nourishing 🪄🧴
@hairstorystudio NEW WASH was developed because most shampoos weaken the hair and strip out vital oils since most rely on detergent. New Wash is a cleanser but doesn’t contain any detergent & has a proprietary blend of essential oils & saturated cleansers.
My hair is never greasy after using it and my dry AF scalp loves it! I’ve been using it for a couple of months now and I’m truly impressed by how nourishing it is for both my hair + scalp. ✨

I love trying new products and these are some ✨new✨faves of mine I have to share with you:

@saintjanebeauty lip oil: love a high-shine gloss and this is ITTT. It’s actually called a lip oil which did scare me before trying it, but really just feels like a gloss. It’s not greasy at all. the sparkly pink is my fave 💖

@herbivorebotanicals moon fruit: calling all pregnant/breastfeeding mamas! this product is a retinol-alternative serum that's clinically-proven to treat signs of aging with 1% bakuchiol + plant peptides. I started using it a few months ago and really love it. I do miss retinol (still breastfeeding) but this is a gentler option.

Burdock oil: I had no idea about this oil until I researched ingredients for the best scalp treatment and this is one of the ingredients I use in my DIY scalp treatment. However I’ve also been using it on my face to double cleanse because it is anti-inflammatory and antibacterial.

@lysbeautyofficial blush: this is the color humble and it’s the prettiest orangey pink which is fab for summer. I’m a cream blush convert because it’s so much more natural looking than powders. & this one is matte, so it won’t look greasy ✨
Your most beautiful life is meant to bring out you Your most beautiful life is meant to bring out your core values.
I’ve always had a vision for my most beautiful life. But with anything, it needed some refinement (as with everything in life).
Since I have become deeply entrenched in coaching, I have been able to identify my core (vs acquired) values to be able to design my day/life. 🌸
Some questions to ask yourself to do the same:

I’m your dream day, what are you wearing?
What values are you living by?
What does your environment look and feel like?
Where do you live?
What activities bring you energy?
A gooddddd mint chip smoothie had been on my mind A gooddddd mint chip smoothie had been on my mind lately and I’d never actually had one, mainly because they’re usually made with banana….and I cannot stand bananas. SO. Knowing that mango can easily replace bananas when it comes to cooking, I picked up a bag of frozen mangos and went to town on crafting my own recipe.

It legit tastes like mint chocolate chip ice cream 🍦

recipe:
🧊 ice
🥭 frozen mango
🥥 coconut cream
🥬 spinach
🍁 maple syrup
🍬 peppermint extract
🥜 almond butter
🥣 oats
🍫 Chocolate chips (I also add these in to the smoothie in addition to on top)
