Reaching your highest self

I don’t know about you, but I spent the first two weeks of this quarantine sitting with my emotions. Letting myself feel and process them. I didn’t have a creative bone in my body because my energy was completely devoted to doing something I had never done before.

I then decided to take this unique time to do a major Life Edit. I’m still working on it and I will write a blog post all about it soon. Today though, I want to talk about processing your thoughts and feelings in a way that will serve you. I am not a counselor (although I do have a Psychology degree!) but I have learned what I am about to share through experience and from my own therapist.

Personally and knowing and talking to others about this, I have learned that many people find it really difficult to deal with negative emotions – the bad shit. When that stuff shows up, we run away, scroll on social media, ya know…distract.

To actually sit with our feelings and process them though, we can allow space for new + better ones to enter. And when that happens, awareness is ‘there’, and you will have more control over your thoughts and consciousness.

 Ok, so here was is (and was) my process for processing:

Sit with your shit:

When you sit with your feelings and understand that it is a part of your experience as a human being, negative feelings usually decrease on their own. Through feeling everything means feeling the tears, worries, a pounding heart, the list goes on. Just let them all be and acknowledge them.

Ask yourself some questions:  

After you’ve had a chance so sit with your feelings, start asking questions. The first thing that I asked myself and continue to ask is “What can I give myself right now?” This question alone is just life changing. Sometimes the answer for me is a long & HOT shower with fresh eucalyptus and my salt rock night light on in the bathroom. Sometimes it’s to go outside for a walk. This question and answer…and then DOING will allow you to connect with yourself on a new level and with your own intuition.

A couple more questions to help get your mind going:

What will lift my mood right now?

What tool will change my state?

At the risk of sounding ‘woo woo’, I believe that we are ALL going through a huge emotional shift and I really wanted to share this message with you so that you can ascend into your highest self.

I love trying new products and these are some ✨new✨faves of mine I have to share with you:

@saintjanebeauty lip oil: love a high-shine gloss and this is ITTT. It’s actually called a lip oil which did scare me before trying it, but really just feels like a gloss. It’s not greasy at all. the sparkly pink is my fave 💖 

@herbivorebotanicals moon fruit: calling all pregnant/breastfeeding mamas! this product is a retinol-alternative serum that's clinically-proven to treat signs of aging with 1% bakuchiol + plant peptides. I started using it a few months ago and really love it. I do miss retinol (still breastfeeding) but this is a gentler option. 

Burdock oil: I had no idea about this oil until I researched ingredients for the best scalp treatment and this is one of the ingredients I use in my DIY scalp treatment. However I’ve also been using it on my face to double cleanse because it is anti-inflammatory and antibacterial. 

@lysbeautyofficial blush: this is the color humble and it’s the prettiest orangey pink which is fab for summer. I’m a cream blush convert because it’s so much more natural looking than powders. & this one is matte, so it won’t look greasy ✨

I’ve always had a vision for my most beautiful life. But with anything, it needed some refinement (as with everything in life).
Since I have become deeply entrenched in coaching, I have been able to identify my core (vs acquired) values to be able to design my day/life. 🌸 
Some questions to ask yourself to do the same:

I’m your dream day, what are you wearing? 
What values are you living by?
What does your environment look and feel like?
Where do you live?
What activities bring you energy?
A gooddddd mint chip smoothie had been on my mind A gooddddd mint chip smoothie had been on my mind lately and I’d never actually had one, mainly because they’re usually made with banana….and I cannot stand bananas. SO. Knowing that mango can easily replace bananas when it comes to cooking, I picked up a bag of frozen mangos and went to town on crafting my own recipe. 

It legit tastes like mint chocolate chip ice cream 🍦

🍫 Chocolate chips (I also add these in to the smoothie in addition to on top)
